Here at Hipster Wife Hunting, we value not only pretty girls and pretty good music, but also (and always) a pretty damn good make-out session. We all got together and picked out our favorite albums to make out to– and we’ve made you a mixtape to get things going. These are our picks:
Audrey JAPburn
1. Diplo Presents: Free Gucci by Gucci Mane (download here!)
If you’re aiming to get laid, let Gucci Mane do all the work. I promise you. It will work.
2. Lust Lust Lust by The Raveonettes
This album makes me feel like I’ve been whisked away by some beautiful European rock star to some cute Parisian nook. Even if it’s really a dude who works at Trader Joe’s and just his shitty apartment in Bushwick.
3. Face Control by Handsome Furs
You know that awesome, throwing-each-other-against-the-walls, pinning-you-down, not-caring-if-the-neighbors-see kind of making out that totally rules? This should always be blasting over such canoodlin’ sessions.
4. Teen Dream by Beach House
Making out to Beach House is like a tall glass of iced tea on a hot summer’s day. Or a falafel after a bender in Manhattan. It’s just….well, perfect.
5. XX by The xx
One time, I was at this dude’s house. I had just gone over to pick up my scarf I had left there at a party. He put this record on. Um. Needless to say, I ended up taking a cab home the next morning.
Ratchet

1. The Violent Blue by Electric President
The first time I really listened to this album: slow dancing in the kitchen over a bottle of white wine. Is there anything more romantic?
Although the entire album flushes serenely forward, put “I Could Be Nothing” (followed by the lyrics “…without you”) on repeat. Remember, this plays into every hipster wife’s fantasy.
Since you’ll be making too much noise to listen to the melancholic lyrics, the beats are perfect to press your body to.
Straying from this romantic-fantasy bullshit, what could be better for a careless, random hook-up than to “my friends are having sex in the other room, being quiet as they can so as not to be rude” from the song “Laugh At Sex, Not Her”.
This is for the hipster couple that needs to refresh their relationship, for the hipster couple that needs to create momentum and thrust in their sex life (literally).
Hunter

1. Music Has the Right to Children by Boards of Canada
Q: What’s the opposite of a contraceptive?
A: This album.
2. Frame by Shuttle358
No joke: this is what our kids will be making out to in the year 2035. Ambient glitch has never sounded this sensual.
3. Measure by Field Music
I’m only including this album because of the track “Let’s Write a Book,” which is pretty much the sexiest thing I’ve heard all year. Who knew funky guitars and xylophone could be such a potent combination?
4. Marry Me Tonight by HTRK
If a tree falls in the forest, but Pitchfork doesn’t review it, does it make a sound? This album was criminally neglected by pretty much everyone when it came out in 2009, but that doesn’t stop it from being darkly erotic, sultry as fuck, and pretty damn awesome all around.
5. Lift Yr Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven by Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Post-rock crescendos = sexual crescendos. Plus: the post-apocalyptic field recordings totally set the mood! Ha cha cha!
Jung Money
1. Selected Ambient Works: 85-92 by Aphex Twin
I will see Hunter’s old school Warp selection for this list and raise him an Xtal.
2. Endtroducting by DJ Shadow
This is a beautiful night album – good for making out, cuddling or more interesting ventures. Might want to start after “The Number Song” – just saying.
3. Moon Safari by Air
Softball pick of the bunch. Skip “Sexy Boy” and yr golden.
4. Rooty by Basement Jaxx
You might not be making out right away with this album but put it on with a fun partner in crime and good things will happen.
5. Is This It? by The Strokes
It worked in high school…I’m willing to bet it still works now.
