What band would play at your ideal wedding?
I would die to hear ‘First Breath After Coma’ by Explosions in the Sky played as I walked down the isle. So, so intense.
If you had a kid, what would be the first song you played for it?
For a girl: ‘Lullaby’ by Loudon Wainwright III- so beautiful, and so cynical. For a boy: ‘The Only Living Boy in New York’ by Simon & Garfunkel. Every boy should hear this growing up.
What decade are you most nostalgic for and why?
The 1920s really fascinate me. I’d love to rock the bob, cigarette smoldering, listening to a swing band play amongst fireflies on Jay Gatsby’s lawn.
What’s your favorite venue?
The Way is my familiar stalking ground. The stained glass windows and graffiti have a lovely contrast, and the venue promoters aren’t dicks.
What qualities do you possess that would make you an ideal hipster wife?
I don’t litter, have tattoos, cook vegetarian meals from scratch, curse like a sailor, smoke Parliament Lights, and am working towards a degree in World Literature at a Liberal Arts school. Need I say more?
What do you look for in a potential hipster husband?
A desire to create, a sense of originality/eccentricity, joie de vivre, dark features and a bit of mystery, love of wine and asian cuisine, and proprietary rights to at least one cardigan.
